Who Am I To You?

02A has always prided itself on having fun, educational, and uplifting programming, and part of that is knowing which programming fits into all of these categories. We tend to repeat a handful of programs each year, since they serve the needs and wants of our little community, and one of these is our "Who Am I To You?" program.

This program is one of the best because it's all about positive affirmations -- but is totally anonymous. Each girls gets a chance to sit in front of the whiteboard, and the rest of the wing is given two minutes to take turns writing positive words, attributes or phrases describing that person. After two minutes, the girls clear away so I can take a picture of the girl with the board behind her. We then erase it before she gets up, so she cannot see what is written (or try to guess who wrote what), and the next person goes! We do this one at a time until each girl in the wing has gotten to go.

This year we had a pretty good turnout, with 20 of our 23 girls showing up to the program. Considering it was only a few weeks before finals, I was excited to have such a solid number of girls come. I was even able to go first as the "test dummy" for the program -- the returning Juniors & Seniors to the wing were able to demonstrate on me how to do the program (as well as just how quickly they'd each have to write) and it ended up making me feel just as special as each of them does when they see their pictures :) Also, please excuse the heart picture in the bottom corner -- one of the girls got a little too excited and wrote "I love you so (insert slight expletive here) much" so I wanted to block that off. Ahh, teenagers and their colorful language skills... Regardless, the picture still made me feel quite loved.

The rest of the pictures are grouped by grade; Seniors, Juniors, and Sophomores. Enjoy finding your child's picture, and knowing they are loved! Also, take what's written with a grain of salt -- some of our girls have odd inside jokes, or weird quirks, so they went 110% with what they wrote. Don't be alarmed by some of the silly things you may read -- it's just the girls being their kooky selves :)
